Opportunities for Individuals
Become a Tutor A commitment of one hour per week tutoring and mentoring a child shows them they are important and so is their education. We provide a 2 ½ hour orientation training for all new volunteer tutors and we offer on-going support for our volunteers.
School Supply or Book Drive
Through strong community support we are able to provide each student in grades pre-K through 12 with a customized backpack filled with school supplies and books.
How to organize a drive
- Contact office to coordinate drive with staff
- Download our school supply flyer
- Arrange to drop off collected supplies at our office

Make a donation now!
Your support makes a difference. 
*$25 will provide 4 children with a new book to start their own personal library.
*$50 will provide two elementry school students with backpacks and supplies.
*$150 will sponsor a high school student with a new backpack, calculator and supplies.
*$500 or more will allow us to help students achieve their dream of going to college.
House PartyVolunteer to host a party at your home with friends interested in learning more about our programs. School on Wheels staff will do a brief presentation. Each guest is asked to make a donation to School on Wheels to help us continue our mission of educating children impacted by homelessness. If you are interested in hosting a party please contact Executive Director Cheryl Opper at cheryl@sowma.org.
