Volunteer Opportunities for Families
Community Service Days Looking for a way to give back as a family with your children? Make an appointment to learn about homelessness in a way that kids and parents can understand together. Listen to a book about homelessness and participate in important projects that make a difference for the children receiving our services.
School Supply Donations Shopping for school supplies with your child? This is a great time to remind them of the importance of helping others. Pick up extra school supplies and come by our office to stuff backpacks with your children as a community service project on a Friday afternoon.
Contact Education Coordinator Hilary Sigismondi at Hilary@sowma.org to schedule a visit at our headquarters and learn how your family can make a difference in our community.
Book List Start the conversation about homelessness and the importance of helping others with these children’s book titles.
Giving Party Instead of friends bringing gifts on a child’s special day, some decide to turn a birthday party into an opportunity to give back to others. Birthday guests bring new books or school supplies that go directly to children impacted by homelessness.
